VPD responds to multiple auto burglaries Tuesday

On Tuesday, March 9, Vicksburg Police Department responded to a number of incidents involving auto burglaries.

Tuesday saw a total of five reports in the Vicksburg area concerning auto burglaries, in which most involved many firearms being stolen.

A call dispatched at 7:19 a.m. Tuesday led officers to take a report at the police station. The report involved the theft of a firearm from a Nissan Maxima. The victim stated a .22 revolver was taken from the vehicle somewhere in the Kings community.

Two calls came a minute later, at 7:20 a.m. The first call had officers responding to a residence on Sky View Lane. The victim reported that three vehicles, a Cadillac Escalade, a BMW X5 and a Lexus CT were entered, resulting in the theft of a purse from one of the vehicles.

The other call also had officers responding to Sky View Lane where the victim stated a 9mm Glock was taken from their Nissan Maxima, which had been left unlocked.

At 7:40 a.m., officers responded to Sky Vale drive where a cell phone was stolen from a Ford F-150.

The last call came in at 7:47 a.m., which led officers to respond to a residence on Crestline Drive. A 2013 Dodge Challenger was broken into. The victim states that a Glock .40-caliber pistol and a nickle-plated Bond Arms Cowboy Defender .45/410 caliber pistol, tools and power drills were stolen from the vehicle.
