VPD searching for a juvenile in connection with a Tuesday shooting

The Vicksburg Police Department is searching for a juvenile in connection with a shooting that occurred Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Officers responded to the area of First East and Adams streets at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday where the victim said a male shot three rounds at his vehicle, striking the front driver’s side tire and the lower driver side door.

The suspect, a juvenile, has been identified.

In an unconnected incident, at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday, a Vicksburg resident came into the police station to report that a handgun had been stolen from her vehicle.

The vehicle, a 2012 Toyota Camry, was parked on Smokey Lane when the 9 mm Jimenez pistol was taken from the center console.
