VPD, WCSO make two arrests in major drug bust

On Thursday, June 29, 2023, narcotics investigators of the Vicksburg Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on Tanglewood Drive. There, they seized 217 grams, or approximately ½ pound, of crystal methamphetamine, 131 pressed fentanyl pills, ½ ounce of crack cocaine, and $4,148.00. The street value of the illegal drugs is $7,800. An additional two pounds of crystal methamphetamine were seized at an address on Redbone Road by Warren County deputies.

Thomas Jones (VPD)

Thomas Jones, 34, of Vicksburg, appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Friday, June 30, 2023 on charges of Sale of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. His bond was set at $210,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Charley Lee Brown, Jr. (VPD)

Also arrested at the scene was Charley Lee Brown, Jr., 28, of Vicksburg. Brown was in possession of 19 fentanyl pills. Charged with Possession of Controlled Substance, he also appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $50,000 bond.
