The Mississippi State Department of Health has released a new weekly report showcasing the COVID numbers throughout county school districts across the state. The data shows that Vicksburg-Warren School District’s case numbers did not make this report.

The only school in Warren County the MSDH reported for this period was Vicksburg Catholic School who has reported eight new positive cases among teachers and staff for the week of Jan. 10 – 14. A total of 35 students were reported as new positives during this time frame as well. Two teachers/staff members are reported to have been under quarantine, along with 34 students.

Recently, VWSD instituted a mandatory five-day quarantine for students and extended its mask mandate in order to help curb the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. That quarantine ended on Wednesday.

Numbers for VWSD are expected on the next report. The current one can be downloaded here.

[Update] After reaching out to Christi Kilroy with the school district, she stated that the numbers were sent into MSDH. She supplied that VWSD schools saw 64 positive cases in the week of Jan. 3 – 7 with 110 in quarantine and 176 positive cases for Jan. 10 – 14 with 463 in quarantine.
