“I’m really excited to be playing on the next level, Walker said. “I’ve been playing softball since the fourth grade so it’s just been my thing.”

Playing on the next level was a easy decision for Walker due to her being a stellar athlete. Even though she has plenty of time to weigh her options, she decided that MCC was the best place for her to expand her playing career.

“I always wanted to play ball in college but I also want to do nursing so I’m going to play for two years and then go on and do my nursing and MCC is a place where I can do both,” Walker said.

Walker was instrumental in the Missy Gators success last season as a junior when she helped VHS to a district championship and reach the second round of the playoffs under head coach Brian Ellis. She collected 13 RBIs, 22 run scores, and had a batting average of .323.

One of the Outfielders best performances last season was against Ridgeland when she went 3 for 4 at the plate in the 11-10 win over the Titans. She was also named to the All-District Team.

Though she has her future secured, Walker’s work as a Gator is far from over. She must now concentrate on her upcoming final season in the spring. Her supporters can cheer her on one last time before she becomes a collegiate athlete.

“I want to thank my mom, my dad, both grandparents because they’ve all been my support system by coming to every game.” I also want to thank my coaches for getting me this far.”
