Walmart launches campaign to support Red Cross
Walmart announced a register campaign to support the American Red Cross at all Walmart Stores and Sam’s Clubs throughout the U.S.
We’re matching up to $5M in customer donations to the @RedCross to support communities impacted by disasters in 2021. This is in addition to the $5M commitment for Hurricane Ida relief made by @Walmart, the Walmart Foundation and @SamsClub early this week. https://t.co/L71yN3Udxl pic.twitter.com/nlgPH9Rdlk

In a newsletter sent out on behalf of the company, it states they will match dollar-for-dollar up to $5 million. The campaign will take place between September 2 through September 8.
“The company will match dollar-for-dollar customer donations up to $5 million through the close of business Wednesday, September 8. Customers and members will have the opportunity to donate any amount, or round-up their purchase to the nearest dollar with the change going to the American Red Cross to support communities impacted by hurricanes, floods and fires in 2021. That means these monies can also be allocated to assist with recent catastrophic events in your area.”
On Monday, Walmart announced a $5 million commitment to aid in response efforts to Hurricane Ida, stating more support was to come.
