Walter William Ledbetter Sr., 1933 – 2020

Walter William Ledbetter Sr. passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Merit Health River-Region Medical Center at the age of 86.

Walter was born in Vicksburg, Miss., on Nov. 17, 1933, the son of Lloyd Rankin Ledbetter and Nona Bryant Ledbetter. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from the Corps of Engineers after 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church where had served as a Lector and Commentator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-daughter Mary Annette Sims and his sister Frances Barrier.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Jeannette Ledbetter; his son, Walter William Ledbetter, Jr.l step-son, Robert Charles Arledge (Holly); four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.  Father Robert Dore will officiate the service.
