Warren Central crushed Port Gibson 78-53 on Friday
Vicksburg, Miss.-Warren Central High School boys’ basketball team crushed Port Gibson 78-53 on Friday night. Last night’s win was the Vikings’ third in a row after recently capturing victories over Clinton High School and Murrah High School.
“We’re just getting ready for district, and we have some good pieces,” WC Head Coach Keith Williams said. “We did what we talked about, and we shared and they got to see that they don’t all have to score 20 points.”
The Vikings came out hot with 3-pointers by Micah Moore and Jaylon Winters as WC had a 22-8 first-quarter lead. Both Winters and Moore finished the game with 16 points each. By halftime, the Vikings were up 47-27 after Robert Williams, Winters, and Daniel Brown collected 3-pointers. Dameon White and Ki’Montae Crutison became PG’s main contributors in the second quarter.
The second half belonged to WC as Nash Morgan came alive and finished with 11 points and Daniel Brown added nine. Robert Williams finished with seven while Larry Reynolds Jr and Deric Gibbs both scored four points. Stanley Doyle and Davon O’Neal had three points and Roosevelt Harris Jr. finished with two while Kylan Randle, Caleb Lane, and Allan Stauts all hit a free throw.
