Warren Central finishes off regular season tonight

Published

The Warren Central Vikings travel to Batesville tonight to play the South Panola Tigers, closing out their regular season.

The No. 2 ranked Tigers (10-1) are off to their best regular season start since 2015.

The Vikings defense has been the strength of their team this season, and they will have a tough battle against the Tigers. The Vikings are no strangers to beating higher-ranked teams, especially with defensive weapons like Jalen Davenport and Malik Sims. As long as the Vikings show up on offense, it should not surprise anyone if they pull off an upset. Sims has been a big part of the Viking defense for the past three years while also scoring touchdowns by carrying the ball on the offensive side.

Coming off a loss to No.1 Starkville last week, the Vikings are looking to finish the season strong before entering the playoffs next week. The Tigers are averaging 39 points a game this year, but the Viking defense have been known to shut down even the best defenses over the years.

The game is tonight Nov. 8 at South Panola High School. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
