The Warren Central Vikings football season came to an end last night with a 33-14 loss to No. 4 Oxford.

The Vikings struggled offensively throughout the game and did not find the end zone until late in the ball game.

Bad field position and a dropped punt that went for an Oxford touchdown put Warren Central behind at halftime 19-0.

The Vikings ran a halfback pass in the fourth quarter, and junior Kentrick Thompson threw the ball to wide open receiver  Shayne Ragan for a touchdown. Antonio Thomas would catch the next touchdown pass for the Vikings from quarterback Parker Kivett.

The loss would end the season for the Vikingsd with a 6-6 record, but it would make it their eighth consecutive playoff appearance under head coach Josh Morgan.

Oxford will go on to play South Panola in the second round of the playoffs next Friday, Nov. 22, and Starkville will play Olive Branch.
