Warren County authorities searching for man who evaded custody
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a man who escaped from a pursuit earlier on Wednesday.
At 11:45 a.m. Sergeant Cordell Watkins spotted a Nissan sedan which fit the description of a vehicle of a wanted individual, Charles Dudley White, 40.
Watkins attempted to stop the vehicle as it turned off Highway 61 onto Culkin Road. The vehicle failed to yield and traveled for about a quarter of a mile before White jumped out and began to flee on foot.
The vehicle was left abandoned in front of a residence which authorities believe he had been staying. Watkins gave chase as White fled behind the home and into a heavily wooded area. Watkins eventually lost sight of him.
Additional resources were brought in to aid in the manhunt. Vicksburg Police Department assisted by providing a K-9 unit. The house and property were searched, but White was not located.
White currently has a warrant for Warren County for receiving stolen property and a Warrant from the Mississippi Department of Corrections for probation violation.
White is described as a white male, standing five foot, eight inches tall and has a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and bluejeans.
Sheriff Martin Pace stated there is no reason to believe White is armed at this time, but asks that anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers.
