Warren County Board of Supervisors approve new voting precinct maps
On Monday, the Warren County Board of Supervisors voted to adopt the new voting precinct maps. The new districts, precincts and polling places will be used in the upcoming Nov. 8 General Election.
The precinct map and polling locations are also available on the Warren County website.
When asked about the school districts, Election Commission Chairwoman Sara Dionne said, “The School District will make the decision whether or not to align the school districts to the new BOS districts. I believe they are working through this process, but we have not received notification that a decision has been made.”
Redistricting occurs every ten years, in the year following the census. In March of last year, District 3 Supervisor Shawn Jackson organized a redistricting training session presented by the Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus in preparation for this exercise.
