Warren County braces for severe weather threats

Warren County Emergency Management is preparing for multiple rounds of potentially threatening weather as a cluster of storms makes its way across north to northeast Mississippi.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely today through the evening and overnight hours, some of these storms could be severe. Emergency Management encourages everyone to pay attention to changing conditions and ensure that your alert systems are in place and working.
Significant severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts up to 80 mph and hail are likely. Tornadoes are also possible today and tonight.
Multiple waves of thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rainfall amounts and areas of flash flooding. Some roads could be flooded or closed. 2-5 inches of rain in a short period of time is possible.
