The vehicle was located on Paxton Road at Old Highway 27 when it became submerged in floodwaters due to the heavy rains on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
The incident is a perfect example of the adage “Turn Around; Don’t Drown.” Especially during periods of heavy rain, do not attempt to drive through standing water. It’s impossible to tell just how high water on a roadway might be. Better to turn around than drown.
