Warren County man dies by accidental electrocution

The Warren County Sheriff’s office responded to a call at 7:20 a.m. today, Sept. 2, for a possible electrocution.

Upon arrival at 3071 Scott Road, deputies found the body of Michael Sleed Williams, 49, lying on the ground near his mobile home tangled in utility wire that stretched from the meter base to his home.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said the death appears to be accidental. Pace indicated that the wiring to Williams’ home was self-installed and not authorized.

Pace said that Williams was apparently walking near the trailer when his foot became tangled in the wire and made contact with an exposed piece of the wire that was not shielded nor insulated. He remained in contact with the wire as his body fell to the ground and was killed by electrocution.

Warren County Coroner Doug Husky pronounced Williams dead on the scene. His body will undergo an autopsy in Jackson.
