Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace announced on Wednesday that Austin Zane Wigley, a 21-year-old resident of Warren County, had turned himself in to local authorities on a child abuse charge.

The arrest came after an investigation initiated by Warren County Sheriff’s Investigators, led by Lt. Stacy Rollison, who had received information about a sexual battery incident that occurred in 2018. At the time, Wigley would have been 17 years old, and the victim was under the age of 14. Wigley had been involved in a prior molestation charge unrelated to the current case. Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Wigley’s arrest.

On Wednesday morning, Wigley surrendered to Detective Mike Traxler and Lt. Stacy Rollison at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9 a.m.

Charged with sexual battery, Wigley appeared before Judge James Jefferson on Wednesday and was given a $100,000 bond. Wigley posted bond later that day.

The case is returnable to the August term of the grand jury.
