Warren County prepares for potentially hazardous weather conditions
Warren County emergency responders are preparing for the potential for hazardous weather which is due to move into the area early Tuesday morning.
“We could see all loads of severe weather. Our area is probably going to start around 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.-ish, which is not great timing for school busses and things like that,” stated Executive Director of Warren County Management John Elfer. “Large hail, strong damaging winds, isolated tornadoes and a lot of rainfall is what is being predicted for our area.”
Elfer went on to state that conditions can change and it is important to stay up-to-date with the latest weather information. “Now is the time to put your plan in place, [have] adequate shelter and have more than one way to get alerts,” stated Elfer.
The highest risk for hazardous weather for the area will be before noon on Tuesday. Elfer advised to check local weather sources every couple of hours to have the most up-to-date information and make plans accordingly.
Residents can check the National Weather Service for updates. Vicksburg Daily News will also be monitoring conditions and providing updates.
