Warren County Sheriff seeks suspect in auto burglary and attempted burglary
Nov. 9 at about 8:50 p.m., the Warren County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a patron at Family Dollar, 135 state Highway 27, of an auto burglary.
Allegedly, while a woman was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car with a window down, the assailant reached over the woman and snatched her purse out of the passenger seat.
Shortly after that, a call was made from Bumpers, 120 state Highway 27, regarding an attempted burglary.
A male approached a car hop and attempted to snatch her change belt off of her waist. He was unsuccessful. Another Bumpers’ employee pushed the man to the ground causing him to drop a toy gun before he fled the scene on foot.
The Sheriff’s department believes that the same man was involved in both incidents based on the descriptions given by the victims.
The culprit is a black male, about 5-foot 7-inches to 5-foot 10-inches tall, and wore a dark blue or black hoodie with a black bandana wrapped around his face. He also appeared to have dreadlocks.
Anyone with information on these occurrences are encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 601-355-8477.
