Warren County Sheriff’s Department identifies home intruder

Around 11:30 p.m., Oct. 6, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call regarding a burglary in the 6000 block of Indiana Ave. 

The resident reported that when he and his family arrived home, they found a woman had broken in. He held the woman at gunpoint until deputies arrived on the scene.

Deborah Sue McCormick, 46, claimed at the time that her name was Sarah Johnson. No items were missing from the home.

McCormick was taken to River Region for evaluation before being taken to the county jail where she is being held with a $6,000 bond on charges of residential burglary and giving false information to law enforcement. She may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the incident.
