The Warren County Board of Supervisors recognized three firefighters on Monday.

“For your acts of heroism, courage and bravery exhibited on Feb. 22, 2020, during the Satartia, Miss., pipeline rupture, your leadership has been invaluable in saving lives throughout our community,” said Board President Jeffery Holland in a ceremony during the regularly scheduled meeting on April 6.

“Thank you for your service.”

Honored were Fire Coordinator Gerald Briggs, Culkin Fire Chief Lamar Frederick and E-911 Director Shane Garrard.

Together, the firefighters rescued three men rendered unconscious by the noxious gases leaking from a pipeline explosion, risking their own lives to do so.
