Warren County Whitetails Unlimited 2023 Banquet set for Oct. 26

Warren County Whitetails Unlimited 2023 Banquet featuring Booth Buys is set for October 26, 2023 5 p.m.-11 p.m.
WTU is the nation’s premier nonprofit white-tailed deer organization. Our mission is to raise funds in support of educational programs, wildlife habitat enhancement and acquisition, and the preservation of the shooting sports and hunting tradition for future generations.
Brian Kittrell is the Whitetails Unlimited Field Director for Mississippi. He has been a WTU Field Director for 11 years. He enjoys land management, exercising, hunting, and spending time with his family. His favorite part about working for WTU is the flexibility and meeting a lot of new and interesting people. His favorite WTU memory is helping on Catch A Dream hunts and anything involved with helping kids get into the woods.
Brian messaged me in 2015 and asked if I would be interested in running the Warren County Chapter for WTU? With no clue of what this would entail, I took the offer under his wing. He helped me go from 40-50 people per banquet, to now having more than 200 people an event. This banquet grows yearly. I have tons of helpers to get me set up. My Mamaw (Betty Bishop), who has been fighting pancreatic cancer for a year now. Recently cancer free as of May 2023. She has helped me every year with decorating. My daughter (Natalie Cantin), has never missed a banquet or helping me set up and decorate or getting sponsors. Paula Baylot has been a saving grace. She called me last year asking to help, and she has done way more than that. Also, Kayla Stuckey… she has been my person through this journey. She does everything. From gathering sponsors, to cleaning up after the event. I couldn’t do it without these awesome people.
I am looking forward to this year. We have a ton of guns and hunting items to auction, and raffle off. Great food, and a full bar. We will have Booth Buys sing after the event is over. So make sure you hang around for some great music.
Let’s talk about where the money goes that we raise. If you’ve never heard of G6:2 Outdoors, go look them up! Dorris and Randy Rippy run this non-profit organization. It is for handicapped kids and veterans to have a whole weekend of hunting, right here in Warren County. The event is held at Bovina Baptist Church on the first weekend in December. They have land sponsors that give their land to for a weekend and allow the ones who are disabled a chance of a lifetime. The hunts are so very special. It’s unexplainable. I am so thankful to be able to guide these hunts every year. Most importantly, to be able to give the money from my banquet to G6:2 to ensure a fun and successful weekend for these hunters.
I want to thank all of my sponsors and ticket holders that come every single year to help make that hunt successful. They are truly appreciated more than they will ever know. Not only by me, but all the hunters and volunteers at G6:2.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. ~ Galatians 6:2
