Watch: County vehicle extracted from Yazoo Diversion Canal

A vehicle that slipped off a ferry into the Yazoo Diversion Canal was recovered Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday morning, 911 received a call that a county vehicle slipped off the Kings Point ferry into the Yazoo Diversion Canal.

A county employee was reported to be in the vehicle when it went overboard. Luckily, that individual managed to free themselves and get to safety.

The vehicle sunk more than 100 yards away from the ferry.

Tuesday afternoon, authorities managed to have the submerged vehicle lifted from the waters and recover it.
