Lightning strike causes Redwood home to burn

A lightning strike set fire to a Warren County home on Redwood Road.
Just before 4 p.m., a structure fire was reported in the 2400 block of Redwood Road. A teenager was in the home and reported he heard lightning strike the home. The first unit on the scene, Deputy Hunter Anderson, reported flames and smoke showing through the roof and that the homeowner was refusing to leave the residence.
FireBoss Jerry Briggs and Firefighter Cedric Martin, along with NorthEast Fire Chief Zac Hearn, were among the first units on the scene to fight the fire. Listen as FireBoss Briggs explains what he saw:
Units with Culkin, NorthEast, Fisher Ferry and Bovina responded to the fire and assisted.

Yazoo Valley Electric, Sheriff Martin Pace and numerous deputies, along with a fire medic unit and Vicksburg Fire Department’s Trey Martin, all assisted at the fire scene. The home appears to be heavily damaged and may be a complete loss.
