Water sampling campaign set for residents of Warren County

Published

on

The Mississippi Well Owner Network has begun a water sampling campaign for the residents of Warren County.

The water sampling campaign will offer containers to be picked up to collect samples until May 11. Drop off of containers will be May 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. Containers can be obtained and dropped off at 1100 Grove Street, Ste. C in Vicksburg.

According to their webpage, “The Mississippi Well Owner Network program is a free, educational training opportunity for Mississippi residents who depend on household wells for their water needs. The program will benefit private well owners who want to become familiar with groundwater resources, septic system maintenance, well maintenance, water quality, and water treatment. Private well owners are independently responsible for monitoring the quality of their well(s) and water. Essentially, they are the operators of their own water system(s) and are responsible for ensuring that their water is safe. Also, private well owners may have their water screened for E.coli bacteria at the time of each program.”
