WC baseball and softball teams took close losses to Madison Central on Tuesday
Warren Central High School baseball team hung in tight with No. 1 Madison Central on Tuesday in a 6-0 loss.
Mayson Shealy pitch the game for WC as he allowed seven hits and struck out one batter.
While WC managed to hang in close with the Jaguars, they had a tough time hitting the ball as MC pitcher Braden Montgomery struck out 16 batters.
Playing against the best team in the nation didn’t stop the Vikings work ethic as they continued to keep the game close all night. WC will be back in action on Friday as they will travel to Madison Central to face the Jaguars in another battle.
The Lady Vikes also played a great game against Madison Central on Tuesday in a 10-9 loss.
Abby Morgan and Annalyn Nevels pitched the game for WC in the close match. Morgan was able to strike out three batters on the night and she also racked up two hits.
Jenn Smith led WC with three hits, three run scores and two RBIs. Kayleigh Karel also had two run scores on the night.
The Lady Vikes will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to play Clinton.
