A big third inning helped Warren Central capture a 9-2 win over Pearl on Tuesday.

The first run wouldn’t occur until the second inning when Jack Wright singled to get WC on the board.

Brooks Willoughby would strike out a couple of batters in the third just before Seth Sterling got a double followed by an RBI from Maddox Lynch. Connor Watkins also got a single that brought in a run which was followed up by a hit from Wright which contributed to another run while WC scored two more times from errors to take a 6-0 lead.

After hits from Watkins, Cade Fairley, and Lynch, the bases were full as the Vikings earned a walk along with an RBI from Ismael Trujillo to put WC up 9-0.

The Pirates would get two runs in the seventh but it wasn’t enough to take down the Vikings.

Willoughby struck out six batters in the win.

Sterling and Watkins both went 2 for 4 at the plate while Wright ended the night by going 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Trujillo also had two RBIs with his one hit as Fairly and Lynch both had a hit.

WC will travel to Pearl on Friday.
