WC defeated VHS in a close match on Monday

Warren Central High School girl’s soccer team opened up their season with a 3-2 win over Vicksburg.
“I think we really played the game plan but we weren’t as aggressive as I would like us to be but we do have a few people out with injuries,” WC Head Coach Jeremy Lawrence said. Our biggest issue was dealing with counterattacks but I’m extremely happy about the way we played and it was a really physical game but it always is with Vicksburg.”
Both the Lady Vikes and Missy Gators were both playing extremely tough soccer throughout the night which put on a show for the crowd.
“I am so proud of the hustle my girls played with tonight,” VHS Head Coach Samantha Bailey said. We only started two seniors so we are still young. Tonight was the first time in my coaching career and two previous years that the Gators have scored on WC. Gator nation should be proud.”
Jordan Polk scored twice for WC on penalty kicks and Gloria Hall scored one goal. Alysha Murrell scored once for the Missy Gators.
