WC fell to Brandon 21-3 on Friday
Warren Central High School football team took their first loss of the season on Friday in a 21-3 battle with Brandon.
Quarterback Jack Wight hit Maddox Lynch and Trey Hall on a couple of passes along with some positive yards by Darius Carter setup a 28-yard field goal by Jonah Artman on the Vikings’ opening drive as they went up 3-0.
Late in the first quarter is when Brandon scored on a 39-yard pass to take a 7-3 lead. By second quarter the Bulldogs had a 14-3 lead after Brandon scored from another pass.
Shortly before halftime, the Bulldogs found themselves again in the end zone after a six-yard touchdown pass.
In the second half, WC’s defense stepped up and kept Brandon out of the end zone for the rest of the night.
Lynch caught a couple of long passes from Wright in the third quarter and Mark Gray came out picking up positive yards.
The positive yards and hard fighting wouldn’t be enough for WC to take the win as they fell 21-3 by the end of the night.
Lynch caught seven passes for 78 yards while Wright went 13 of 23 for 98 yards. Sophomore Eric Collins Jr. had 53 rushing yards.
WC now has a 4-1 record under Head Coach Josh Morgan.
