Warren Central High School football team traveled down to Delta State on Friday and came back with a 20-19 win over Lafayette.

The Commodores went up 6-0 early in the game but WC quickly responded with a touchdown run by Trey Hall.

Offensively, WC was able to pick up some big runs led by Darius Carter and Mark Gray along with Hall. Quarterback Jack Wright was able to spread the ball out as the Vikings’ passing game managed to have a positive effect in the win.

Running behind Brandon Snowden and Beau Davis, Hall picked up another touchdown run for WC to keep the Vikings ahead midway through the game.

Shortly before halftime, Wright hit Hall on a 45 yard touchdown pass as WC went up 20-13.  DeCorey Knight Jr, Kaleb Miller and Maddox Lynch also made some big catches at wide receiver for the Vikings.

Defensively, WC stepped up when it came time to stopping Lafayette with Julien Demby making some key stops. Demarcus Jones also dominated in the trenches to shut down the run game.

Lafayette eventually got one more touchdown on the night but was stopped on their two-point conversion attempt which gave WC the ball back to run out the clock.

WC will start their summer program under Head Coach Josh Morgan and prepare for the Red Carpet Bowl in August.
