On Friday, Warren Central High School baseball hung in tight with Northwest Rankin in a 2-1 loss.

Both Cougars and Vikings pitched well in the game, with Jack Wright striking out six and Kylan Landers striking out nine.

NWR got on the board first in the third inning when Brady Thomas got a double that led to Ernest Rogers getting the score.

The Vikings would respond in the seventh after Braxton McCurley hit a ground ball which helped Landers tie things at once.

Dawson Muenzenmay hit a home run in the ninth inning, which would seal the victory for NWR.

Blake Channell went 2 for 5 for WC, while Connor Watkins, Landers, Seth Sterling, and Preston Lynch all had one hit on the night.
