WC knocked off Olive Branch 7-0

Warren Central High School softball team shutout their second team in a row after a 7-0 win over Olive Branch on Friday.

A double by Sarah Cameron Fancher put WC in a good position in the first inning. Jenn Smith also got a double that contributed to the first run of the game.

WC got on the board again in the third after a single from Mary Evelyn Hossley and a sacrifice by Fancher as the Lady Vikes went up 2-0.

Maddy Pant, Makayla Jackson, Fancher and Smith all had hits in the fifth to push WC’s lead to 7-0.

Smith went 3 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs. Fancher also had two RBIs and went 2 for 2. Hossley, Kayleigh Karel and Pant all had one hit on the day.

Pant struck out six batters and only allowed two hits.

WC will face Oxford and Brighton on Saturday.
