WC picked up a district win against Columbus; VHS fell short to Ridgeland

Warren Central High School volleyball team picked up a district win over Columbus in three sets(25-9,25-13,25-14).

Melissa Herrle and Calise Henyard had six kills each while Ellie Henderson and KK Kelly both had four kills. Herrle, Henyard, and Kelly all finished with four aces.

The Lady Vikes will be back in action this weekend at WCJHS for Round Robin with Pisgah, Pelahatchie and Franklin County. Next district match is Tuesday against VHS.

VHS:

Missy Gators traveled to Ridgeland for a district game and lost 3-1 (12-25, 16-25, (26-24
won) and 25-12).

“They left everything on the floor with a lot of hustle, determination and fortitude,” VHS head coach Deborah Brown said.

VHS had a block fest as they came out with 22 on the night. Makynzie Dunmore and
Jordan Grace ruled the blocks and digs. Dunmore had nine blocks, 10 digs, five saves and three kills. Jordan Grace followed with five blocks, eight digs and six kills. Lili Kistler, Jamia Grace and Amari Johnson contributed with blocks, digs, kills and assists.
