Warren Central High School senior Jeff Moore recently completed his Eagle Scout project by making 83 blankets and donating them to the babies in the Neonatal ICU at Merit Health River Region hospital.

Moore is a Life Scout and will soon be an Eagle Scout after successfully finishing this last project, which took nearly 100 hours to complete. He felt it was a very necessary cause.

“I knew it would be a good help because a lot of the babies don’t make it through,” Moore said. “So I wanted to help out in a way,”

Moore dropped off the blankets Thursday to Lacey Griffith at Merit Health who was surprised to receive such a great donation from a young man.

Although Moore completed the project alone, he had help from the Vicksburg community, including Mayor George Flaggs Jr. who donated money for the supplies.

“I want to thank Mayor Flaggs and the rest of the community who donated to the project,” Moore said.

Moore will soon see his hard and generous work pay off when he becomes a full Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. Only 4% of scouts ever make it to the top.
