WC shutout Raymond 14-0 on Saturday

Warren Central High School baseball team shutout Raymond 14-0 on Saturday.

Hayes Loper and Lester Martin both brought in runs from hitting singles while WC picked up multiple runs from walks as they took the 7-0 first inning lead. After a double by Maddox Lynch in the second, Conner Watkins singled which brought in another run and he eventually scored from an error just moments later to put the score at 9-0.

The third inning was profitable for the Vikings as Cade Fairley hit a two-run home run. Lynch smashed another double in the third and Martin hit an RBI to give WC a 13-0 lead. Cole Autry hit a double in the fourth and final inning while Brooks Willoughby singled as Loper pulled in the final run from a sacrifice.

Willoughby(1 RBI) and Lynch both had two hits while Martin, Watkins, Fairley and Loper all had one hit and two RBIs. Autrey had one hit and one RBI and Ryan Nelson had one RBI.

Willoughby only allowed one hit as he struck out 11 batters.

The Vikings(7-8) will host St. Andrews on Monday.
