WCJHS girl’s basketball team defeated VJHS 26-22

Warren Central Junior High School girl’s basketball team had a close game with Vicksburg, but came out with a 26-22 win.

The Lady Vikes started things off strong by going up 8-3 at the end of the first quarter. VJHS narrowed WC’s lead to 12-10 going into halftime.

Kennedi McKay led WC with 11 points, along with Kelsey Snowden and Jordan Powell who added seven.

Nakia Jefferson led VJHS with 10 points, followed by Jordan Grace and NyKeria Walton who each had six.

The game remained hectic in the fourth quarter as both teams were tied at 21 until WC scored on a layup.

As time expired, the Lady Vikes was up 26-22 with them taking the victory over their crosstown rivals.
