WCJHS seventh and eighth grade team defeated VJHS on Tuesday

Warren Central Junior High seventh and eighth grade team defeated Vicksburg Junior High on Tuesday.

Seventh Grade Game:

The Vikings started the game off with Jayden Woods getting a big tackle in the backfield as they forced a three and out.

Nathaniel Graham picked up some positive yards on the drive followed by a 20-yard run by  Xavier Jackson. The game remained scoreless in the first quarter.

J. Stewart took some handoffs in the second quarter but WC still hand trouble getting in the end zone.

On their next drive, WCJHS managed to get a safety as J. Defrance and Woods attacked the ball carrier.

WC took the 8-0 lead after a 50-yard run by Stewart late in the game. Landon Davis and Stewart both had a interception in the win.

Eighth Grade Game:

Jordan Clay came out scrambling for VJHS as he picked up multiple first downs. Micah Moore and Jonas Moore both got a big hit in the first quarter.

Jacob Porter blocked a punt for WC early in the game.

As WC went on offense, KeAnthony Wynn ran for some good yards and made his way in for a touchdown. Wynn would eventually score again from 25-yards out after a 15 yard run by D. Demby.

With WC being up 14-0, Clay attempted to get the Gators back in the game as he hit Curry for a long pass. VJHS eventually punted the ball again to give WC possession.

Wynn picked up a 37-yard run followed by a 15-yard catch by Blake Caruthers from quarterback Nash Morgan. Wynn helped WC go up 20-0 after a short touchdown run before halftime.

Late in the game, WC maintained their 20-0 lead as Fabien Davenport picked up multiple tackles along with Woodland. Clay continued to pick up lots of rushing yards for VJHS but the Gators continued to struggle with getting a touchdown.

Tristan Jamison got a sack on WC’s last defensive drive as they took the 20-0 win.
