WCJHS volleyball team came out with a victory over Northwest Rankin

Warren Central Junior High School’s volleyball team defeated Northwest Rankin on Monday, with scores of 25-22, 22-25, and 15-10.

“These ladies played hard till the end to get the win. Lots of movement and teamwork got us some great passes, aces, and a few kills,” said WCJHS Head Coach Latoya Lumpkin.

Facing a 4-9 deficit in the third set, Laken Lee stepped up with impressive serves and aces to level the game at 10-10. The team then did just what they needed to finish the exciting game with a win. Players Kennedy Smith, Laney Bull, Shamiya Pernell, MK Ferguson, Laken Lee, and Natalee Downs all contributed with commendable plays.

WCJHS will face Vicksburg Junior High on Wednesday and host Clinton on Thursday. The seventh graders will start at 5 p.m.
