WC’s Jacob Downey earns a scholarship as a football manager at Mississippi State University

Warren Central High School football manager Jacob Downey has now landed a spot in Mississippi State football as manager in the fall.
Downey has been the head manager for the Vikings since eleventh grade and is excited about joining the Bulldogs program this summer.
“I feel great and I see that all of my hard work has paid off, so I thank my coaches for everything and I’m still in complete shock,” Downey said.
Downey will report to Mississippi State at the end of July to begin his new job with a much bigger program. He will major in business management when he arrives at the university that he has always wanted to attend.
“Mississippi State was the only school I really looked at and my coaches had great connections so I’m glad that I could land at MSU,” Downey said.
Downey is set to graduate from WC in May and from there he will be headed to his dream school to do what he does best, which is taking good care of a football program.
