We see the smoke too, don’t worry, it’s controlled

A lot of 911 calls are being made due to smoke seen in southern Warren County.

Currently, there are two controlled burns in the southern part of Warren County, including a 2,800 acre burn in Homochito that is blanketing southern Warren County.

Firefighters are aware and there is no danger from these controlled burns as of now.

 

Update on locations:

  • There is one controlled burn activity behind Fisher-Riles Funeral Home on Indiana Avenue where a developer is clearing land.
  • There is a controlled burn on Lee Road.
  • Farmers are controlling a field burn in Madison Parish.
  • The Homochitto national Forest is undergoing a 2,800 acre controlled burn.
