The crime in Vicksburg has Mayor George Flaggs Jr. upset and ready to make changes.

In a conversation with the Vicksburg Daily News, Flaggs indicated he was not happy with the events of the weekend and the perception of crime in the city. While the Mayor was not specific, he did indicate he will be announcing changes at the Vicksburg Police Department and expanding the Civil Emergency Order at a press conference Wednesday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m. The mayor’s tone was serious and determined as he indicated he believed enforcement of the civil emergency order would have lessened or even stopped the large gathering of people at LD’s and other places around town.

The Vicksburg Daily News will follow this story and give you updates and details as they become available.
