What Do You Think?

As much as it pains me to admit it – I just read an article in the local print newspaper.  Our supervisors want to gauge public response to a tax increase to build a new jail.  Might I also point out that our deputies and sheriff’s office personnel have not had a cost of living increase in several years.  Would you favor a tax increase for these purposes. We want you to respond,.  We will print out your responses and hand deliver a copy to each supervisor. I, Thomas Parker, as a citizen of Warren County, am very much in favor of this.  We continually lose good people to other agencies due to our lower salaries.  The cost of training and re-equipping new officers far out weighs what it will cost taxpayers to retain officers by raising their salaries.
