Donnie Heggins has been with the Vicksburg Police Department for seven and a half years. Five of those years have been with his partner, Thor.
Heggins and Thor are currently training in Fort Worth, Texas for certification.

Heggins and Thor are at the National Narcotics Detector Dog Association training seminar in Fort Worth, Texas. At this event, they receive additional training and certifications. Heggins is a National Certifying Official for the organization. He can certify any dog in the United States.
The event in Fort Worth is hosting dogs from all over the US. They are trained in narcotics, patrol apprehension, and explosives. It’s a week-long conference, training, and competition.
Said Heggins wife of 18 years, Beth, “We have dogs here from New York, Mexico, Florida and all over the US. It’s pretty amazing.”
