Why Does Your Business Need a Website?
]]>
The Web Development Imperative The simplest answer to the question in the headline of this article is: People expect you to have a website. A growing segment of the population frowns upon businesses that don’t have a web presence. In today’s rapidly changing world – not to mention the tough economic times we’re in – traditional “brick and mortar” businesses are struggling to keep up. The aforementioned “growing segment of the population” are, more often than not, turning to the internet to shop for the items they desire. Many times they make their purchases over the internet without ever knowing whether or not the item they are buying is available from a local merchant. Today’s marketplace is much different than it was just five short years ago. The advent of the “smartphone” has changed the way many people get online and interact with each other. Ask yourself if you could conduct your business as efficiently as you do without the cell phone that you most certainly have. Now ask yourself how much more successful your business could be if it were accessible, 24/7, to anyone with a smartphone or computer. You probably agree that you could have more success, but question the feasibility of having a website because of the financial burden associated with it. I’m here to tell you that it’s time to change the way you think.
The Solution to the Limited Budget
Next month, Vicksburg Daily News will be offering you the opportunity to have your very own custom-designed website for a cost guaranteed to fit your budget. What’s even better… we’ll be giving you the tools that you need and teach you how to use the skills you probably already possess to maintain that website all by yourself. I’m an experienced webmaster and video producer. Cristy and I pride ourselves on our quick turnaround time with web and video projects. We have ten or twelve websites that we maintain and most of them have to be updated pretty regularly. We ask people to give us at least 48 hours notice before an update needs to be made so that we can ensure that the update takes place in a timely manner and that it is formatted correctly and the client is happy with the result. We are currently working on moving all of our clients to a new platform that will accomplish two things for them First and foremost, the new platform will enable the client to make updates “on the fly” and be able to get information out to their customers on their timetable, not ours, or anyone else’s. Secondly, the new platform will enable them to reduce the amount of money that they pay on a monthly basis to maintain their website. That may bite into our pocketbook, but it will open the door for us to be able to offer this same service to many, many other businesses.Think About Your Goals
The time has come for you to think seriously about what your goals are for your business and how a website will help you to attain those goals. Take some time this weekend and sit down with a pen and paper and write your goals down. We’ll be posting a series of articles this weekend that may help you envision new and different goals. Feel free to call us to answer any questions that you may have. Cristy and I are ready, willing and able to talk to you about your web development goals and are available to talk after-hours and on the weekend. We’re available from 8 am – 10 pm, every day. Here’s the contact info that you need. If you get our voice-mail, please leave a message and we’ll call you back as soon as possible. We may be on the phone assisting someone else.- Chris Whittington – 601-415-4234
