At around 11 p.m. Saturday, Vicksburg Police radio traffic indicated there was a crowd gathered at LD’s on Levee Street. A large group of people were gathered outside and several cars were parked obstructing the railroad tracks. Numerous Vicksburg police officers spent the next hour attempting to disperse the crowd. Many patrons left the establishment with several migrating to area Waffle Houses.

Just after 2 a.m., Vicksburg police received a shots-fired call from the Waffle House on North Frontage Road. A chase ensued with a vehicle reported to have been involved in that incident. Three individuals were taken into custody near Bowmar and Yeager streets.  The Waffle House on North Frontage Road is closed until further notice per Police Chief Milton Moore.

Shortly after, another shots-fired call came from the Circle K at Halls Ferry Road and Pemberton Boulevard. It was reported that one person had been struck, but a victim was not on the scene when officers arrived. At the time of this writing, the alleged victim has also not shown up at Merit Health. Numerous Police Investigators and Deputy Chief Penny Jones are assisting in the investigation.
