Willie Swartz, Sr., 1955-2023

Willie Hal Swartz Sr, 67 was born on September 3, 1955, to the late Robert “Mailman” Swartz and the late Beatrice Archie Swartz in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Willie retired from the Warren County Highway Department with 30 years of service. He loved spending time with his family, singing in the “Swartz Brothers Band and Show” where he was the bass guitarist.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jacqueline Swartz, son Willie Herman “cheeks” Swartz, sister Christine Bingham, his parents and grandparents.

Willie leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Towanna Anderson, RaSheeda Chriss, of Vicksburg, MS, Carlos Anderson Sr. (Nioshae), Willie Swartz Jr. (Tomeka) of Vicksburg, MS, Willis Swartz (LaShonda) of Denton Texas, and his children that he loved and raised Keisha Anderson (LeeRoy) Jamie Woods, Joshua Woods (Angel), and William Chiss all of Vicksburg, MS. Brothers: James Robert Swartz Jr (Patricia) of Junction City Kansas, James Earl Swartz (Shirley), Charles Edward Swartz Sr. both of Vicksburg, MS. His sisters Dorothy Ann Swartz, Vivian Ware (Robert) of Vicksburg, and Ruth Watson of Chicago, IL. Willie has 25 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and a special family member he loved “Scruff.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Willie Hal Swartz, Sr. on August 13, 2023, 2:00 PM at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church, 2715 Alcorn Dr, Vicksburg, MS .

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS on August 12, 2023 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Willie Hal Swartz, Sr. transitioned on August 7, 2023 at the age of 67.
