Wilma Louise Ahrend, 1943 – 2022

Wilma Louise Ahrend went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 6. She was 78 years old.

She was a loving wife and mother. She spent many years as a teacher serving at First Methodist Protestant and Warrenton schools. She was a faithful member of the Vicksburg First Church of the Nazarene, and loved singing as part of the praise team. She also spent many years enjoying league bowling with her husband, sister, family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Ahrend; her parents Johnnie Lee Warnock and Dollie Warnock Redditt; brothers, Claude Warnock and Pete Warnock; sisters, Edith Atkins, Chesley Pitts, Mary Helen Fortenberry and Sarah Sanders; and brothers-in-law, Shirley Ahrend, Hank Ahrend, and Tommy Ahrend.

She is survived by her sons, Freddy Ahrend and Randy Ahrend; brother, Johnny Warnock, as well as siblings-in-law Dian Warnock, Ed and Jimmie Ahrend, and Jimmy and Louise Hearnsberger.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Fillebaum, Donald Germany, Tanner Germany, Andrew Cox, Taylor Rowland and Joseph Cranfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Fillebaum, Dwain Butler and Steve Alford.

Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with a graveside service at Greenlawn Gardens cemetery. Presiding over the services will be Rev. Kelvin Boone and Rev. Anthony Hearnsberger.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 3428 Wisconsin Ave., Vicksburg, MS 39180 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
