Winter storm watch from Sunday into Monday night

The weather may show signs of clearer roadways, but caution should still be exercised. Multiple incidents continued to be reported Friday night until early Saturday morning, involving multiple accidents due to hazardous road conditions.
Temperatures today are only expected to reach a high of the low to mid-30’s, and drop to low 20’s tonight. The National Weather Service is calling for a slight chance of freezing rain tonight, which may further impact driving conditions.
As arctic air continues to push through, the threat of inclimate weather will increase.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon until late Monday night. The National Weather Service states that a wintery mix of precipitation is possible, along with possible snow accumulations of up to 1 inch. The biggest accumulations are expected between late Sunday night and into Monday morning.
Travel may be impossible for some during this time and conditions may impact commutes.
Vicksburg Daily News will continue to keep everyone updated on the Winter Storm Watch and changing conditions. Please use caution if you have to get out on the roads.
