Winters indicted for 2020 murder

James Winters has been indicted for the 2020 murder of Wade Carter Jr.

Along with the murder charge, Winters is also indicted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

Winters allegedly shot Carter twice in his abdomen outside LD’s Kitchen on Oct. 6, 2020. He was apprehended in January 2021 where he was was charged for his alleged crimes.

Winters faced Judge Angela Carpenter who set his bail at $2 million but the Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on him.
