Wisconsin 14-year-old held on $1 million bond after allegedly killing and sexually assaulting 10-year-old

A Wisconsin teen is being held on a $1 million bond after allegedly killing and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old Iliana Peters of Chippewa Falls.

A 14-year-old, only identified as C.P-B was charged with 1st degree intentional homicide, 1st degree sexual assault resulting in great bodily harm and 1st-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 resulting in great bodily harm, according to a report by WEAU.

A $1 million bond was requested by the district attorney of Chippewa County, Wade Newell. The request was granted by Judge Benjamin Lane based on information obtained by investigators. According to the report, the suspect stated he intended to rape and then kill the victim. Newell stated the suspect told investigators that he hit Peters with a stick and then strangled her to death, then sexually assaulted her.

The 14-year-old suspect is being tried as an adult. Two of the three charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5 for a status conference. He is currently being held in the Eau Claire Juvenile Detention Center.
