Woman arrested after threatening to kill Pike County deputy

Faith Amore Newsome, a 20-year-old woman, found herself behind bars last Thursday after she allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill a deputy, according to a report by WLBT.
The incident took place in the 2000 block of Emerald Lane, where deputies were called to respond to a call of someone being threatened.
Newsome talked with deputies then reportedly became combative and resisted arrest, leading to a physical altercation with law enforcement officials. During the altercation, Newsome is said to have struck one of the deputies in the face and threatened to kill her.
Newsome has been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. The injured deputy was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Newsome has received a $50,000 bond.
